On Wednesday, January 22, Back in the Swing presented a $75,000 grant to Carol Fabian, MD, for a new study entitled, “Combined Weight Loss and Omega-3 Fatty Acids for Breast Cancer Prevention”, at The University of Kansas Breast Cancer Prevention and Survivorship Center.
“On behalf of the thousands of individuals who support Back in the Swing USA, and the hundreds who support the Carol J. Fabian Leadership and Legacy Fund through charitable donations, it is a pleasure to award this grant to a pioneer in the field of prevention and survivorship research,” according to Barbara C. Unell, founder and director of Back in the Swing USA.
The Carol Fabian Leadership and Legacy Fund, a Back in the Swing Tribute Fund, recognizes Dr. Fabian’s contributions over the past 30 years in groundbreaking breast cancer prevention, cutting-edge academic medical research, and dedicated clinical care, all for the health and well-being of breast cancer survivors and those at high-risk for breast cancer. In celebrating the remarkable leadership and legacy of Dr. Fabian, the thousands of patients and their families whose lives have been empowered and protected by her devoted care also honor their commitment to joyful, healthy living.
