improving and protecting your health after breast cancer through education and awareness

Back in the Swing is the first and only national nonprofit organization providing grassroots awareness, education and fundraising on behalf of the more than 2 and a half million breast cancer survivors in the United States to empower them to get back in the swing of life physically, emotionally and spiritually.

The mission of Back in the Swing is the subject of a groundbreaking book on cancer survivorship, published by the National Academy of Sciences in 2006, titled From Cancer Patient to Cancer Survivor… Lost in Transition.* The authors of this book, as well as the leaders of Back in the Swing, hope to forge a “new era in cancer survivorship by raising awareness of the many concerns of cancer survivors” and “to improve the care and quality of life of individuals with a history of cancer.”
